October BJP Page--Not Quite Pink

I'm getting ready to start my October BJP page. It will acknowledge October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I'm a survivor, and I'd like to hear what other survivors think about my decision to make the page not quite pink. You can see my beads and read about my reasons on my blog.

I'm a big advocate of flesh tones. I do love the colors that you've chosen - I can't wait to see what you do with them!

I adore the idea of 'not quite pink'! You are the survivor. YOU get to pick your color, hehe!

I'm excited to see what comes about ... and if any other colors wander in, as happens sometimes. :)

Hi Marty

I'm a fellow Breast Cancer survivor and share your mixed feelings. I had my surgery and first chemo in October 1998, so breast cancer awareness month has always had more than one meaning for me. I'm glad to be alive but have lost friends to the disease, so I hope research will help my nieces and granddaughters will be spared. I think it is important to check out how much money spent on those pink purchases actually goes to the research. I could do with a few less things and still send money to breast cancer funds.

I love the colors you have chosen. I often work with those colors too, and find them very soothing. Can't wait to see your piece.
