September's Project Completed!

I finished my September journal page. You can see it on my blog.

I am pleased with the process and with the result. I learned a lot, and that was fun. Of course, seeing what everyone else is doing is fun, too.

I still wonder if I chose the best stabilizer and if I should go with a larger size. And how I can photograph the shiny things.

Now what? Another page for September? Start the October page? Some unrelated beading?

Vacuum? No, not that!

You did a great job on your first page, Marty. The big question is "Are you happy with it?" This is the month you have to make the decision on size, so if you are going to change it, now is the time.

Arline,
I am happy with it. But I'm not beyond tweaking my plan.

Hello Marty,

I had a great problem with photographing shiny things, and with close-range photography in general. So yesterday, when I was really fed up, I went to a media market and asked a salesman in the camera department how to do it. He gave me some explanations and demonstrations with my own camera.

One of the major tricks is to switch off the flashlight. Flashlight at close range seems not to be a good idea, and moreover beads reflect the light strongly. Maybe I could help you with this. Can you imagine how happy I was when I left the store?

Last not least: I really like your page.

I totally LOVE your amber project and think of it as the glass display of poured sand you can sometimes buy for mantle/coffee table displays! AWESOME!
