Hi all - I've been behind, but hope I will be on-schedule for March. My January and February pieces are done and can be viewed here, along with my others for the 2008 BJP. My journals for this year are with the theme: Mirror Mirror on the Wall, each includes: a new color scheme, a machine embroidery (have my machine for less than a year) and something new that I have not done before. Each piece is a 5 inch mirror, but the mirror faces the wall so you can see the beads.
Have a Beady Good Day. Karen

Simply beautiful, Karen!

Your mirrors all have such graceful lines... is that from years of doing Cloisonné? They flow so beautifully... Your theme or challenge for the year is very tempting... and you seem to be having fun with it! How does it feel compared to the more personal work you did last year? Hugs, Robin A.
These are wonderful, creative, colourful, fanciful, splendid, fantastic!
This is in response to Robin's questions... 1st let me say thank you to all the wonderful comments - they certainly make my day.
In terms of the curves...I once took stained glass from a guy or told me his art teacher in college told him that every line in a piece should stand out and be beautiful on its own. I have always remembered that and take it to heart in any artwork that I create. Being a math person, I know that a beautiful line is one that is mathematically correct and that is why there is a French Curve (which I don't use but could probably get some mileage out of).
In terms of last year's BJP and this one - I was very happy last year journaling my months and am again happy with what I decided to do for this year. I love that this project helps me grow as a bead artist - it feels really good. Thank you, Robin, for starting this.
Just a word : Magnifique!!! I love a lot all your pieces!
These are all so lovely. I just love those little bird beads. They are so sweet. Such a clever idea. Julie C
Hi Karen! Your mirrors are beautiful. I wish I could see them and hold them. They look really touchie feelie. Are you still using your favorite purple beads on each one?
Your pieces are all fabulous, I too would like to touch them and hold them ! They are like fairy treasures.
Gorgeous, every one of them! Love the colors you put together every month...
